General
Name: Praetor Oronir
Sex: Male
Age: 32
Preference: Heterosexual
Occupation: Oroniri Warrior
Height/Weight: 7'2",120kgPraetor is a tall and well built, hard lines have been etched into his muscles from a lifetime of warring and little to no extra weight. His hair is jet black, much like the Hingashi of the East, and his skin is pale, beaten red and tanned under a lifetime of nomadic warfare. Praetor's most distinct features, however, are the billowing red lines which flow through his scales, as if magma flowed through his joints. As a Xaela, Praetor has somewhat of a conflicting nature. He is a reserved warrior, an unusual pattern for the otherwise prideful Oroniri warriors. But his lust for battle and war are no less intense than the others. His gift in the echo, with which he believes to be a gift from the Dusk Mother, grants him sight and vision into the lives of others. As such, he has a level of self-importance about him, and views himself as an example for his people to be what a true warrior is.They say that a Xaela's nature is violence, but Praetor has only ever felt trapped in his role as a warrior. And dislikes the fact that it is mostly correct.Praetor feels his bloodlust greatly, experiencing an intense euphoria in the midst of battle that sharpens his senses and intensifies his Echo's capabilities. Simultaneously, his Echo renders him to feel the emotions around him. He has come to accept this as the nature of the brutality of life, and does not see it as anything unique, only reinforcing his Xaelic views on warfare. While Praetor enjoys combat, he requires meaning behind battle in order to be fully satisfied. A worthy opponent, for example, or a worthy cause. In the Azim Steppe, reasons for warfare could have simple been a few uncourteous words, a stolen sheep, or hunting on the wrong side of the river. Part of what has motivated him to seek out the further lands is to push himself and his power to grow out of slaying sheepherders or fishermen.

History
Praetor was born to the Sargerel Tribe, now extinct having been encapsulated by the Oronir. Situated near Moonrise by the House of the Crooked Coin. The tribe were masters of Aether, yet had low birth rates due to birth defects. As a result, while gifted, the tribe was subject to low birth rates. Sometime during his childhood, Praetor's tribe was overrun, its people put to the sword, and the children enslaved or recruited into the ranks of the Oronir. The first memory that Praetor ever had was running directly into a line of arrows, naked with a crude wooden shield held in both arms. He had been screaming, partially out of fear, and partially to feel the thrill in his body and push on. War is not pleasant, and while the Oroniri clan never abused their children, the same could not be said for captured slaves.Praetor was a Tribute, the first line of people that a Xaela tribe sent against their enemies to soak arrows and spells. These were not the proud Oroniri born warriors, but the traitors, slaves and the captured enemies of tribe. In the pits of the Dawn Throne lay rock latrines, relics of bygone wars, where the captured of the Oroniri would lay. In the peaceful mornings, Praetor hauled stone, thatched arrows and brought water. If it was a raid, he was among the first to go into a raid into a bloody spearwall, to be pecked down by an enemy Yol, or to run into a Dotharl firepit.Praetor should have died young, but he did not. Whether by sheer luck or by some degree of natural skill, Praetor's body never received more than a scratch or a burn from arrows or otherwise. Ten summers into his youth, Praetor watched a starshower as he herded sheep from the Sea of Blades, and heard a faint echo coming from the House of the Crooked Coin. Confused and disoriented, Praetor kept to himself, out of fear that he would be outcasted as a possessed or a tempered person.Throughout the next few months, the young Xaela experienced scenes from the lives of many others over time; the loss of a child, the unrequited feelings of another, the struggles of an Oroniri fisherman. In this, he developed a great empathy and understanding of his people. His first attempts at trying to repair relationships were quickly ousted, and he was beaten for his attempts as terror shook those who shunned his knowledge. Praetor quickly learned that compassion was not what drove the Xaela, and so ignored it, pressing these feelings into himself. The powers he garnered were greater than understanding, in battle he could read the flow of life from his opponent, as if tracing lines of different colors onto the ground. When he breathed in the air, he felt a surge of fire wreathe his body as if a surging inferno coursing through his blood, allowing him to overcome obstacles thought to be impossible. Though he was by no means weak before, his combat abilities as a child had been middling at best, this changed as he entered puberty. Most attributed it simply to a growth spurt, but from then forwards, Praetor was no longer viewed as mere fodder and before long quickly became a Yolrider of Xorxoi Khan, and his personal champion in duels against the Naadim. The Oroniri warrior continued to serve, upon the death of the previous Khan, detached himself from the Oroniri to serve as a raider, taking a crew of Oronir tribesman to raid the Ruby Seas against the Garlean Empire. It was not until the coming Naadam where the Mol became victors, that Praetor would return into the Oroniri fold. Praetor was dealt a vicious blow in the midst of battle, a single axe blade to the chest which rendered him insensate and unconscious. Though he survived, Praetor's echo flowed through the midst of the battle, watching as the Warrior of Light submerge both Sadu Heavensflame and Magnai the Older. Convinced that this soul, who would become Khagan of the Steppe, was in fact Azim reborn, Praetor left his home to join the fight against the Garlean Empire, convinced that he would learn more about his own powers by following them.
Out of Character
Discord: Toppa#1111Hi, thanks for checking my Carrd! My OOC name is Toppa, and most of my friends refer to me as such. I'm 28 and have been roleplaying most of my life. I've been RPing on FFXIV and have made so many amazing people, but I am always looking forward to meeting more. Please don't hesitate to shoot me a message in Discord.I would also like to clarify that while I enjoy dark, mature and explicit themes, I ask that we discuss with each other before we do any role play. I also have clear lines of separation between IC and OOC. At the end of the day, I'm just writing for fun. Let's not complicate things too much!
I'm looking for:
Long Term or Short Term Relationships
Employees for Eidolon, specifically spies or assassins.
Politicians, foreign, Ul'dahnian or otherwise who may be clients that want to hire Eidolon for political espionage.
Students who may wish to learn magic under Kariya, who is ICly an accomplished Red Mage.
I am also looking for individuals who may or may not have had connections to Kariya's former ties to the Corpse Brigade or have fought against King Theodoric or the XII Legion.
Regarding OOC/IC:I believe that most RP should be discussed between two people, and that both people should enjoy the RP. For the most part, I am more than okay with having enemies, negative comments and political intrigue and backstabbing, so long as it is within reasonable expectation of the character. But I would like to preface that if I am uncomfortable with a situation, I will let you know OOCly, and that we might stop the RP prematurely.Regarding ERP:I enjoy explicit roleplay, I only ask that you DM me so that we can discuss particulars of our relationships. I am okay with casual ERP so long as there is a reasonable justification for it (e.g. we discuss they have a past history or that we RP their meetings for the first time).
